I like the part of the web nobody photographs
I'm Sara. I design and build for the web, then keep the result running, which means I also spend a lot of time inside sites other people built: why a page is slow, why a checkout gives up on Fridays, why a server that was fine last year isn't anymore.
Lately a good part of my attention goes to AI. Not as a position, more as an ongoing experiment: it reads a wall of logs faster than I ever will, and it is confidently wrong about causes in a way that would get a junior engineer taken off the incident. Working out where that trade is worth it is genuinely interesting to me.
Before this I was at Automattic, where the systems were big enough that guessing didn't work. Now I co-run a small agency, take rescue work for other agencies, and build one product of my own: something I wanted and couldn't buy.
I'm Italian and I travel a lot, which means I've rebuilt a routine from scratch more than once: new studio, new schedule, new way of explaining at dinner what it is I actually do. I'm a pole dance lover, a pilates enthusiast, and a walker on weekends. The studio taught me more about how progress actually works than any productivity book, and it changed how I do the technical work too: go slow, change one thing, don't panic.
So this site is both halves. What I run, what breaks, what I'm reading, and the habits I keep testing on myself before I recommend them to anyone.

What I actually do
Design and build
Sites and interfaces from the layout out, not a theme with the colours changed. I like doing the design and then having to live with it in production.
AI, used carefully
It reads logs and boilerplate faster than I do and it is confidently wrong about causes. I use it where being wrong is cheap and check it where it is not.
Incident work
Sites that are down, slow, or behaving strangely. Diagnosis first, then the smallest fix that holds.
Security and cleanup
Compromised sites, hardening, access hygiene, and backups that have actually been restored.
Performance
Real measurements on uncached requests, database work, and caching applied last rather than first.
Infrastructure
Servers, DNS, migrations and hosting choices, including the ones I inherit from someone else.
Product work
Building and running my own two products, which keeps me on the other side of the support inbox.
Writing it down
Reports and documentation a client can read without me in the room.
